The internet reacts to Zikhona Sodlaka’s wish for a Netflix movie

by Bongiwe Mati

Award-winning actress Zikhona Sodlaka is undoubtably one of the most talented actresses this country has ever seen.

This versatile mother of one has been featured on many Mzansi films, telenovelas and soapies certifying her as a legend in the arts industry.

Recently speaking to eNCA in celebration of her 18 years in the acting industry, Zikhona stated that she initially wanted to be a singer or a dancer. It took a friend who motivated and went with her to her first audition to jump-start her acting career.

Many would remember her past roles on productions such as Nelson Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom, Entabeni, A Place Called Home and many more.

Her recent work includes the role of a shebeen queen called Mandisa in the popular Showmax series called The Wife as well as the role of Bulelwa Mxenge, a religious and family-orientated first wife, married to polygamous husband of four wives on Gqeberha: The Empire.

In recognition of her talent, the Eastern Cape-born beauty was recently honoured with the Best Actor award at the National Film and TV Awards.
