The internet reacts to ‘Yoh Christmas’

The BBZEE production came through with a season one of Yoh Christmas that entailed six episodes. One thing we will applaud the the production team for is the selection of the star studded team that kept us glued to our screen from the first episode, right through to the last.

Selected by Ayanda Sithebe, the cast director showed a variety, as he chose some of our legendary veterans alongside some of the freshest talent within the acting scenes. The infusion of local sounds had us dancing along with the characters.

The show definitely oozed Christmas as it was filled with warmth and was centered around family.

The leading character of Thando did a remarkable job as she shared a few similarities with many young South African females embarking on a journey of sucking up to her parents pressure of finding a partner while navigating through life.

As a girl who wore her heart on her sleeves, Thando captivated us as she went on several dates on hopes of finding her mister right. While at it, we witnessed Thando let her lose and have fun while also dealing with heartbreak and some not to anticipated experiences.

This is what netizens had to say about the local series:

What a treat this was. Loved it. #YohChristmas ☺️ pic.twitter.com/6OXhmUCeOx

Maybe I’m a loser but Thando’s love life summary with that “People just keep abandoning me” line is the first time I have ever related to a moment on the South African screen #YohChristmas pic.twitter.com/UmM8wZeMQm

I related so much with Thando’s love life ?oh my gosh that scene in the first episode where Charles counts Thando up when the ex bf left??? I literally cried ? oh and the soundtrack was ?? discovered Langa Mavuso’s Pretend? well done to the entire cast #YohChristmas pic.twitter.com/qX5fz7es3v

#YohChristmas Y’all are not ready for this chat but Charles and Thando should have been a couple ?? she had better chemistry with Charles compared to all the guys she was seeing ? pic.twitter.com/FyOYBdr4mm

I love this series. It’s summed up the type of men in the dating pool?? #YohChristmas

As the Netflix  series ended on a cliffhanger, many of us are left wondering what season 2 has in store for Thando.

After all those dates and moments of leaning on her male bestie, who might Thando’s Mr Right be?
