Former Miss SA and Miss Universe Zozibini not only shocked South Africa but the rest of the world when she nonchalantly revealed that she had tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. Meet the team behind the event, from hair, and make-up, all the way to styling.

Social media has been buzzing with celebration and excitement as the past week has seen not one but three weddings of some notable names in the industry, namely former Miss SA Natasha Joubert, TV and radio personality Candice Modiselle and the longest reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi.

Taking to her Instagram, Zozibini, who is affectionately referred to as Zozi revealed that on 22 March 2025, she and her partner Luthando Mluleki tied the knot in what is a legitimate contender for the wedding of the year as the ceremony was not only the definition of ethereal but also contained a star-studded guestlist including the likes of Connie Ferguson, Natasha Joubert, Bonang Matheba and many more notable names.

Everyone knows that the final product of a ceremony such as a wedding is the result of the work of various creatives, from the decor to the videography and photography, as well as the catering, entertainment and wedding planner. Meet some of the names and faces behind the blushing bride and groom.

Wedding Designer – Zavion Kotze-Brereton

Wedding planner and TV presenter Zavion Kotze-Brereton was the man who was responsible for ensuring that everything looks and goes according to plan, and is up to par with the Zozi’s standards as the bride. Zavion’s work has been a big talking point as the public compliments not only the choice in venue, but the overall look and feel of the ceremony, down to the theme that the guests were provided with.

Dress designer – Phan Huy

A bride of Zozi’s stature deserves only the best when it comes to the dress they will wear to mark the beginning of forever with her other half. Vietnamese designer Phan Huy gave the former Miss Universe exactly that in a unique gown that exudes elegance and femininity, as per the bride’s wishes. According to Phan Huy, the gown took a total of three months and the hands of four artisans to complete, as it carries an immense amount of detail from the 300 organza flowers to the 3D floral branches.

Hair and Make-up – BK MUA and Hair by Viwe

A bride’s hair and make-up is one of the most important aspects of the big day as it has an immense effect on how she feels about herself on such an important day of her life. BK MUA (Bokamoso Dikobo) and Hair by Viwe were the chosen creatives entrusted to deliver a timeless and effortlessly stunning look for one one of mzansi’s most popular brides in Zozi, and BONA believes that they deserve all the flowers as the former Miss Universe looked beyond gorgeous.

Styling – Thobeka Maduna Mbane

After securing big-time gigs such as styling Boom Shaka for Sowetan, styling Bonang Matheba’s Steve Madden campaign as well as Thandiswa Mazwai’s jaw-dropping cover for The Manor, among many more impressive projects, fashion cultural strategist and curator Thobeka Maduna Mbane pulled off an impressive job as Zozi’s stylist, as her final look was a sight for sore eyes. Everything seemed to fit perfectly into the final look, as the hairstyle went perfectly with the accessories, bouquet and down to the shoe.
