Actress and radio host Thando ‘Thabooty’ Thabethe shared one of her favourite moments from her reality TV show Unstoppable Thabooty – her conversation with international superstar and former Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland.
Thando explained that she met Kelly two years ago on Kelly’s first trip to South Africa. “I had an interview with her for the radio show, and it was just vibes.”
While sitting down with Kelly in a heart-to-heart moment, Thando spoke about how it would be trying to balance her career and motherhood.
She asked Kelly, “I feel like I’m postponing having a kid because when am I going to take care of the kid?”
Reassuring her, Kelly told Thando, “First of all, you work your ass off, you can definitely afford a nanny, my dear. That’s the luxury of working your ass off. I worked up until four months if it was a show or acting gig. You tell your production crew whatever, and if you’re running the production crew, you tell yourself, ‘Okay, how do we figure this out?’ But you make it work.”
In her confessionals, Thando says, “When I get a learning opportunity, I’m one to grab it. Kelly’s been one who is able to at the same time run a family and run a career. Is this something I want? I’d have to find the father first. I didn’t mention it to her. Maybe she could’ve helped.”
