Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana serve Showmax legal documents to cancel ‘Tracking Bester’ airing

by Bongiwe Mati

A Showmax real-life docu-series based on the escape of convicted criminal Thabo Bester (who was said to have died when a fire erupted in his prison cell), and his alleged girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana aired its recently aired its trailer getting many internet users excited for its release.

Nandipha and Thabo’s relationship was brought to light when pictures of them were leaked on the internet after they were spotted at a local grocery store buying food. According to news publication GroundUp, the person who took the pictures wasn’t aware that the person who was with the popular doctor was the convicted rapist and murderer.

The publication states that the lady was taking pictures of the rumoured couple to show her friend that she spotted Nandipha with a man who wasn’t her husband.

What followed after the discovery shocked many of us as the couple allegedly escaped, and was later caught in Tanzania and extradited to South Africa.

Investigation into the case revealed more shocking news on how the escape was planned, including an alleged murder of an innocent man.

Showmax shared the Tracking Thabo Bester docu-series trailer, later receiving notices from both Thabo and Nandipha’s lawyers to cancel the documentary airing:

According to eNCA news, the alleged couple claim they have not given the broadcaster rights to air a documentary in their names, nor have interviews been conducted with any of them. They also state concerns about the docu-series’ accuracy of events as they were never consulted, adding that it might cloud people’s judgment.
