Award-winning actress Gcina Mkhize has shared her deep gratitude with those who have reached out to help her during one of the most difficult periods of her life.

After making an emotional plea for financial assistance that quickly went viral on social media, a Back-a-Buddy fund was set up to aid her and her family as they face eviction from their home.

In a heartfelt video, Gcina spoke directly to her supporters, saying, “Every cent that comes in is making a real difference. My children and I are eternally grateful, and we are deeply humbled by your kindness.”

Her voice quivered with emotion as she expressed just how much the support meant to her. She also shared the details of the fundraising campaign and her personal bank account for anyone who still wanted to contribute, hoping to offer some relief for her family’s overwhelming financial struggles.

Gcina’s situation is dire. The former “Isibaya” star is facing eviction from her Glenvista home in Johannesburg after defaulting on her bond payments, which led to the property being sold at auction.

The new owner, Tevin Mashila, told The South African that Gcina had been informed she no longer owned the home and that he planned to begin renovations.

However, Gcina has refused to leave, explaining to SundayWorld that two men live in the house with her family and that parts of the property have already been demolished.

With tears in her eyes, Gcina revealed another heartbreaking reality: she cannot provide food for her children, as she is unemployed.
