After winning numerous trophies with the World Cup-winning Springboks and the Durban-based rugby franchise, the Sharks, one of World Rugby’s standout athletes, Ox Nche, has celebrated a personal milestone.
This past weekend, friends and family all gathered to honour the Free State-born Bok bruiser in celebration of his 30th birthday.
Taking to Instagram, he shared a gallery of images that showcased all that went down at the milestone celebration.
In what appeared to be a black and white theme, the 30-year-old was spotted surrounded by multiple public figures including, content creator and actor Primo Baloyi, son of Bafana Bafana legend, Lucas Radebe, as well as Arno Greeff, renowned for his role as Chris in the iconic series, Blood & Water.
Comedian Donovan Goliath kept guests entertained as the Master of Ceremonies on the evening.
Like fellow teammate Faf de Klerk, Ox’s public profile immediately skyrocketed after the 2023 Rugby World Cup victory. This was all thanks to his sturdy posture in the scrums, which led to a victory over England in the semis and ultimately winning the tournament a week later.
His signature phrase, “Salads don’t win scrums,” became one that was on everyone’s lips, with him later opting for cake instead. This weekend, the front rower reiterated this message when he gracefully showed off his 30th birthday cake.

Earlier this year, the Springbok prop embarked on a new business venture when he collaborated with Bongi Mbonambi and Trevor Nyankane to launch their own wine range, called Bomalumz.
The range has since turned into a popular favourite and can be found at multiple retailers across the country.
