Excitement is in the air as yet another Springbok baby makes its way to town!
While her husband, the double Rugby World Cup winning flyhalf Handré Pollard found himself glued to the match between the Springboks and Argentina in Durban – his wife Marise took the opportunity to enjoy the sunny weather of the Cape when she celebrated her baby shower.
Earlier this year, she and Handré revealed that they would soon be welcoming a new member to extend their family of three to four.
To welcome the arrival of their little girl who is due in October, Marise made the most of the spring season by hosting her own baby shower in her hometown of Paarl in the Western Cape.
Surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of nature, she took to Instagram where she shared a video reel which features all the festivities that took place on the day.
Captioning the post, she wrote, “The best day celebrating our baby girl in the most beautiful place. Wrapped in love, held in prayer, and surrounded by those who mean the most. Thank you for filling our hearts and her future with so much light. I love and am grateful to each one of you.”

After spending close to six years in Europe where Handré played for the French club Montpellier and later Leicester Tigers in England, the couple has now returned to South Africa where Handré will once again represent his boyhood club, the Blue Bulls to be closer to their family.
