South Africans mourn jazz singer Gloria Bosman’s death

Tributes have been pouring in for the multi-award-winning musician Gloria Bosman who has died at the age of 50 after a short illness.

The Bosman family confirmed her death in an official statement, saying that details about her memorial and funeral service will be shared in due course.

“It is with profound sadness that we share that in the early hours of this morning, we lost the rock of our family,” the statement read.

“The details of memorial and burial services will be released in due course. We appeal for your compassion and space during this time of overwhelming grief. We welcome and appreciate your prayers in the difficult days ahead of us,” the statement concluded.

Gloria, the Jazz legendary musician has shared the stage with musical greats like Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Moses Molelekwa and many others.

The former Minister of transport Fikile Mbalula wrote: “The African National Congress is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of renowned jazz musical maestro, Gloria Bosman.”
