Somizi calls out Sweet Guluva fans for coercing people to vote

by Zintle Mdaka

With the public campaigns for Big Brother Mzansi underway, one that seemingly stood out for media personality, Somizi Mhlongo is Sweet Guluva campaign.

This is after he took a stand and condemned the strategy of Sweet Guluva’s fanbase, where they reportedly comment vote Sweet Guluva on most social media posts.

He made it clear that he does not watch Big Brother Mzansi, and what Sweet Guluva’s fanbase is doing is annoying and may actually ruin his chances of winning the show.

“You are ruining his chances because you are annoying, because every time we post you impose your campaign. Sweet Guluva may not win the show because of you,” he said.

Former IdolsSA judge closed his video by urging Sweet Guluva fans to not campaign on his posts, because he does not watch the show.

TikTok users took to the comment section to share their views.

“Mawuqeda leBeyonce oyenzayo (when you are done) vote Sweet Guluva, okay my angel,” said one user.

Another user said: “Nathi ama Idols sasingawabuki (we also did not watch Idols) but we were voting – VOTE SWEET GULUVA.”

While another one said:”Finally someone said it.”

Sweet Guluva born Akhonamathemba Mbele is one of the top five finalists from Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo. He has garnered a strong fanbase that leads a public and loud campaign, with some of them introducing Sweet Guluva to prominent figures on social media platforms and asking them to vote for him to clinch the grand prize of R2 million.

He is currently competing with Fortunate ‘Nate’ Setwaba, Uyanda Hlangabezo, Nsuku Mabunda and Karabo ‘Jojo’ Sejojo.

The conversation escalated to X (formerly Twitter) where X users also shared their views.

#BBMzansi Somizi is going on & on there by TikTok as if we asked him to take out a loan for Sweet Guluva whereas people were just campaigning for our boy, where does one get so much anger from??? We shall be there though when he needs us the most!!! ??
