South African gospel singer Solly Moholo has been hospitalised in Botswana after falling ill while attending the launch of his new album Wubani O Zo Pepeza. Solly who was set to celebrate the release with a special event, started feeling unwell shortly after his arrival in Botswana.

His management team told the entertainment publication TshisaLIVE that they will stay in Botswana until he fully recovers. They shared that he is feeling better and requested fans to keep him in their prayers for a swift recovery.

“He is much better today than yesterday. During this time, the family humbly requests that you keep Ntate (Father) Solly Moholo in your prayers as he fully recovers. We will keep you updated regarding any developments. We ask his fans to put him in their prayers for his speedy recovery.”

In addition to his current health issues, Solly opened up about his struggle with depression. In an interview on The Venting Podcast With Gogo Skhotheni, the Moruti Nthapelele hitmaker admitted to a few suicide attempts due to ongoing difficulties in his career and personal life.

He further described feeling intensely isolated and overwhelmed, spending a lot of time alone and watching television. In the process he cancelled shows, leading him to consider self-harm, including thoughts of using a gun to end his life.
