After avoiding the public spotlight for nearly a year, the controversial YouTuber Slik Talk has made a return to social media to reflect on what has been a year of self-care and personal development in certain areas of his life.

Upon his return, devoted subscribers were greeted with what appeared to be a new and improved version of the young creative – this after he spent several months working on losing weight to improve his outward appearance by venturing into starting a healthier lifestyle.

In the video shared on his channel, the bubbly personality shared that he experienced a rude awakening after the boxing match he had with the Hip Hop rapper Cassper Nyovest, where the result was more than just a physical defeat in the ring, but that he was also criticised for his physique and being out of shape at the time.

“I went to a boxing match, I lost, and I didn’t like the way I looked,” he explained.

“I was disappointed. Everybody was laughing at me. I saw what people were saying, I used that energy and applied it to myself, and here are the results.”

The renowned Youtuber, who according to the news publication The South African, is also a law student, later provided his followers with a guideline on what is required to achieve the results that he has.

He explained that it all started with a change in mindset and finding himself a personal trainer, and the rest followed.

“That was the mindset I went in with. I’m not playing around. I get in there and put in the work six days a week.”

For him, the process included removing unhealthy foods, getting enough exercise by incorporating running and working into one’s daily schedule, remaining consistent and most of all being patient with the process.
