Skeem Saam actress Harriet Manamela returns to set after announcing that she would be getting hip surgery.

Harriet, who plays Meikie Maputla on the local drama series, Skeem Saam gave an update on her current health state after getting hip replacement surgery.

In February, SABC announced that Harriet would be replaced by actress Flo Masebe whilst she was recovering.

Taking to her Instagram, Harriet posted an update saying that she was currently recovering from her surgery with the caption:

“May I take this moment to say I have recovered. I had hip replacement surgery at the beginning of the year hence I was given a break from shooting. Thank you to everyone for wishing me well even though there was no clear explanation why I had to be off the screen & production had to find a sit-in for me. Your support and wishing me well humbles my heart & you all much appreciated.”

She also expressed her gratitude towards her temporary replacement Flo by saying, “To my dearest sesi Florence Masebe “ngwana Manamela” as you fondly call me. You responded to the call of duty and did what you knew best. Being one of SA’s powerful performers we are looking forward to enjoying your episodes and your strong abilities to bring characters to life. I humble myself before you sis Flo and say Kea leboga sesi.”

In her lengthy post, Harriet also sent her condolences to Mpho Sebeng’s family after he tragically passed away in a car accident.
