Putla Sehlapelo has been acting for over a decade, but he still believes there’s more to learn. Best known for his role as Alfred Magongwa on the popular show Skeem Saam, Putla has captured the hearts of viewers with his performances from various television series and his leading role as Maloro in the mini-series ‘Death of a Queen‘.
He expressed his gratitude for the recognition he’s received, telling Daily Sun, “It’s an honour for me and I really appreciate it. A nomination is as good as a win, so, thank you South Africa.”
Putla’s journey in acting has taught him many lessons and despite his success, he doesn’t consider himself at the top.
Putla further shared with the publication that his character on Skeem Saam hasn’t significantly impacted his life, as he views it as just a role.
His passion for acting drives him toward the character and he remains committed to continuous improvement. He has learned that there’s always something to learn from others, recognising that while everyone has talent, each person brings something unique to the table.
Putla previously opened up about his experiences both on and off the screen.
In an interview with TVSA, Putla recalled some unforgettable experiences with fans. One that stood out was when a young woman became emotional upon seeing him.
Putla has recently joined Mzansi Magic’s Queen Modjadji and revealed to the Daily Sun publication team that he was asked to join the telenovela Queen Modjadji after gaining attention from a video where he spoke Khelobedu and his previous portrayal of a Death of a Queen. He believes it was partly due to social media buzz and God’s intervention.
