While many have taken to their social media platforms to write some of the most admirable captions to their loved ones over the past few weeks, one that both, surprised and left many social media users with unanswered questions was the birthday post shared by the award-winning South African artist, Sjava.

Growing up in African households we all knew the Emzini Wezinsizwa characters off by heart as well as what their favourite phrases were. The SABC 1 isiZulu sitcom contained quite a star studded cast that were absolute naturals and were hilarious without even trying too hard.

With most of the legendary cast members of  Emzini Wezinsizwa deceased, we have come to appreciate the veterans left to an even greater extent while also holding onto some of the greatest memories and laughter that those who have passed have left us with.

Taking to Instagram, Sjava shared a picture of the late veteran actor Roland Mqwebu  who was affectionately known as Baba Mkhize on Emzini Wezinsizwa.

He penned down a tender caption which read, “Happy birthday and thank you for the smiles you put on our faces love you always,” along with a red heart emoji.

Upon reacting to both the picture and the caption, many took to the comment section to ask whether Sjava was the son of the late veteran actor. While many couldn’t help but share the resemblance they saw in Baba Mkhize and Sjava.

“Many didn’t know ukuthi this is Sjava’s Dad. His actual biological father,” alluded an Instagram user.

Another confused user shared their thoughts and said, “Imana Sjava uyasidida manje. Uzosihlebisa amanga manje sicela usicacisele.”

“Happy birthday to ubaba wakho , even the teeth, there’s no denying Bhungane,” said another confidently.

With one Instagram user stating that, “Stars really do give birth to stars.”
