Siyabakhumbula Awards will hold a heartfelt tribute at Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Centre, honouring the memories of icons who left an indelible mark on South Africa’s entertainment industry.

The Siyabakhumbula Awards, meaning We Remember Them, was founded by renowned poet and musician Mzwakhe Mbuli, to honour legends as reported by Art Africa.

According to Sunday World, Khanya “The Voice” Hadebe, Killer Kau, Mpura, and DJ Thando Tot will be honoured at the 2024 Siyabakhumbula Awards on 16 November at Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Centre.

They tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision on the N4 near the Marikana toll gate in Rustenburg. All of the artists were together in the car at the time of the accident.

Mzwakhe Mbuli stated to the mentioned publication that these awards aim to honour heroes and heroines, ensuring they are never forgotten and that their legacy shines forever.

“The purpose of these awards is to honour our heroes and heroines, to make sure they are never forgotten. These are our stars, and our objective is to make sure that they shine forever,” shared Mzwakhe.
