The all-time Springbok Dream Team is under construction, with Schalk Burger securing his spot as the ultimate blindside flanker. Pieter Steph du Toit has secured his spot as the fan-favourite to take the seventh position.
The Springboks are a team with a long and rich history, and have made strides from being the face of racial discrimination to turning things around and embodying the love and unity South Africa boasts. The culture that coach Rassie Erasmus and the South African Rugby Union have cultivated is beyond impressive, and has every player, young and old, salivating at the opportunity to join the national team.
Over the years, the Springboks have seen several generational talents; players who not only possessed an unparalleled level of skill, but displayed immense passion and selflessness every time they donned the green and gold jersey.
In honour of 30 years of the Springboks, Supersport is putting together the ultimate Springbok Dream Team XV, which will be made up of the players that fans believe were the best in each of the starting XV positions. So far, positions one to six have been taken by Os Du Randt at the One, Malcolm Marx at two, Frans Malherbe at three, Eben Etzebeth, Victor Matfield, and Schalk Burger, most recently securing his spot at six.

The open-flanker position at seven is up next, and Pieter Steph Du Toit (PSDT) has emerged as the obvious answer for fans, both young and old. According to these fans, no other player who has donned the number seven jersey can compare to what PSDT has achieved.
Pieter Steph Du-Toit is the ONLY right answer https://t.co/Uw9nmTeSGL

If number 7 is not PSDT, then the system is rigged. https://t.co/gPl3R7GXC4

Skip 7. We know it’s PSDT, while we at it let’s go straight to 13. 8-Thor, 9-FdP, 10 Pollard, 11-Habana, 12 DDA. https://t.co/O1UBSXx1Ub
