Celebrity chef Siba Mtongana revealed that her Facebook account was hacked the beginning of this month.

Taking to Instagram to inform her followers, Siba shared the following:

“IMPORTANT NOTICE❗️❗️ Please note our official Facebook page ‘Siba Mtongana’ was HIJACKED by hackers on 1 September 2023 and we no longer have access to it. You might have noticed two weird posts this past Friday afternoon with a guy cooking in a foreign language. That’s not our content, it’s the hackers who’ve taken over the account and have removed us from all admin roles. For now please ignore all posts from that page, and we will notify you when this matter has been resolved.”

The restauranteur then stated that herself and her team are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get the Facebook page back. “If anyone here on this platform is from Meta and can assist us quicker, we would appreciate it as we don’t know what else they are planning with the account. Please reach us at info@thesibaco.com. Thank you. Siba and team.”

Since the account has been hacked, the hackers have changed the page name from ‘Siba Mtongana’ to ‘Daily Food Videos’ and uploaded to two videos.

Commenting on the hack, one of Siba’s Instagram followers said, “This is disheartening, the same has happened to my caterer yesterday.”

While another follower asked Siba, “Do you want to try and recover it? You probably have IT people that can help with this but it would not hurt trying.”

Siba replied, “As I mentioned, they’ve been on it since Friday, in touch with Facebook trying to retrieve it. Hopefully resolved much sooner so we can get going. ??.”
