Shauwn Mkhize did not visit Thabo “Bexter” in jail

Social media users went into a frenzy after Shauwn Mkhize posted a video refuting allegations that she is the “well known celebrity” that had allegedly visited Thabo Bester in jail.

In a video loaded by the business woman and now author, Mamkhize commented, ” Bathong, bathong Ngivuswa u Tha Simelane uthi gijima uye ku twitter (I was just woken up by Tha Simelane asking me to quickly check twitter).”

“Guys ngiqeda ukuyishayelwa yi Cape Town City, kabuhlungu kabi izolo, intliziyo yam ibuhlungu (My heart is still sore from my soccer team’s loss).”

“Lingenaphi igama lam ku Thabo Bexter (How is my name associated with Thabo Bester)?”

She also went on to say, ” Guys, ngicela usisi bandla womlungu, tell the country who is the well known celebrity involved, but ke guys, does this mean I’m the only well known celebrity South Africa?

Ngicela, ning’size, ngicela ning’hambele niyothenga incwadi yam (please go buy my book), that’s the only thing you can do for me and talk about…”

“Stop putting me in these things I’m not involved in, Thabo Bexter this, Thabo Bexter that, go buy my book, that’s the only thing you can do and talk about ….”

At the end of the video Mamkhize posted a twitter post by  journalist Karyn Maughan which reads,

“Mrs Mkhize isn’t listed as having visited Thabo Bester. I’m not sure why she is being named like this, but I certainly did not identify her. She is not the celebrity I was referring to.”

Twitter users were left in stitched after watching the video stating that she could not be the celebrity as she couldn’t even pronounce Thabo’s surname.

One user wrote, “I thought I heard it wrong the first time, but the second time she repeatedly said, “Thabo Bexter this, Thabo Bexter that” I knew my sister ain’t in it… She doesn’t even know the guys name.

Another user wrote, “I love her dearly and I know she is not involved especially with that “Bathong, Bathong (Gosh)”
