The countdown to Showmax’s original reality TV series Born Into Fame has officially ended. Internet users are happy that TV presenter Shamiso Mosaka expressed she doesn’t want to continue her mother’s legacy.

Born Into Fame follows the lives of six children who have famous parents in the industry and how they navigate trying to make a name for themselves.

Despite being the daughter of veteran broadcaster Azania Mosaka, Shamiso made it clear on the first episode of the reality TV series that she wanted to build her brand outside her mother’s name by saying, “I don’t feel like I’m continuing my mother’s legacy and that’s never been a goal of mine.”

This statement made internet users happy as sometimes famous children want to follow in their parent’s footsteps. Since being in the industry, the tatted queen has intended to make a name by herself as a TV show presenter and working on radio.

During the episode, the TV personality candidly spoke on her mental health issues where she added that her first tattoos were to hide scars caused by self-harm.

Back in 2021, Shamiso told entertainment publication, DRUM, that, “I used to struggle with really bad depression, and I now still struggle with chronic anxiety. There was a time when I was struggling with my mental health and I started self-harming. When I finally got help, I got my first tattoo that said Resilience over my scars.”
