Actor Siyabonga Shibe has been caught up in yet another scandal after he was accused of being involved in a kidnapping.

The actor who is known for his work on various productions such as The Wife, Shaka iLembe and Uzalo has been accused of kidnapping, assault and stealing from his ex-wife’s cousin in the Free State.

The actor was also previously accused by film students for not funding them through his foundation as he claimed he would.

As reported by entertainment publication, ZiMoja, last year in December, the actor allegedly kidnapped Karabo Patrick Letsoalo.

According to a police statement handed to the entertainment publication, Karabo stated that the actor wanted to be given access to his child and when his demands were not met, he ordered Karabo to get into the car where they drove off together.

The cousin alleged that he was assault by Siyabonga and that Nomthandazo, who is the actor’s oldest daughter proceed to pull out a firearm threatening his life.

Nomthandazo, who is currently his manager and alleged long-lost daughter distanced herself from these kidnapping allegations by telling ZiMoja that:

“Those people are lying; dad and I went there to drop off gifts and his grandma then refused us access to my brother. We decided to ask Karabo to show us where the boy was, and he made us drive around for hours and we eventually dropped him and came back without seeing the child. My father would never allow me to carry a gun.”

Only a case of theft was opened due to Karabo claiming that they took his phone during the kidnapping, with Captain Stephen Thakeng who is the Free State police spokesperson saying that the case is still under investigation.
