Fikile Ncwane, mother of the late gospel musician, Sfiso Ncwane wants to perform a cleansing ceremony after being rejected by her daughter-in-law, Ayanda Ncwane from her son’s tombstone unveiling.

Ayanda recently shared pictures of her husbands tombstone unveiling, in an event attended by her family members and distinguished guests.

In an interview with Zimoja, Fikile explained that she is planning a ceremony for Sfiso known as “Ukukhuphula”, meaning to bring his spirit home. She further explained that Ayanda had an unveiling of Sfiso’s tombstone a few weeks ago and that she excluded Sfiso’s family, and  his other kids.

A broken-hearted Fikile said, “I don’t know what I did to her, but I want her to know that I love her because she is the mother of my grandchildren.” She said that despite her attempts to reach out to Ayanda via phone calls and WhatsApp messages, she is ignored.

Another issue that hurts Fikile the most, is that Ayanda is refusing to let her gain access to her grandchildren. She said, “I am sorry but God won’t keep me forever. I would like to see my grand kids because seeing them on social media and TV is not enough.”

Fikile also told the publication that she last saw Ayanda in December 2016, during Sfiso’s burial. She said Ayanda was hostile to her and she doesn’t know her reason for that.

The cleansing ceremony is set to be held at Fikile’s home in Mthwalume on the South Coast of Durban a few months from now.
