The family of legendary South African actor Seputla Sebogodi has announced the details of his memorial and funeral services as the country prepares to bid farewell to one of its most celebrated performers.

Family, friends, colleagues and fans will have an opportunity to honour the veteran actor’s remarkable life and legacy at two memorial services before his final send-off.
Johannesburg memorial service
The first memorial service will take place on Wednesday, 22 July, at the State Theatre in Pretoria, where members of the entertainment industry, loved ones and supporters are expected to gather to celebrate Seputla’s contribution to South African television, film and theatre.

Polokwane memorial service
A second memorial service will be held on Friday, 24 July, at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane, giving family, friends and fans in Limpopo an opportunity to pay their final respects to the beloved actor.
The additional memorial reflects Sebogodi’s deep roots in Limpopo and the impact he had on communities across the province throughout his career.
Seputla Sebogodi’s funeral service
Seputla will be laid to rest on Saturday, 25 July, at a funeral service in Polokwane, where his family will gather with relatives, friends and members of the public to celebrate his life and legacy.
Further details regarding the funeral procession and burial are expected to be shared by the family.

Seputla built an illustrious career spanning more than four decades and became one of South Africa’s most respected actors. He was best known for portraying Kenneth Mashaba on Generations, a role that made him a household name.
