Radio and TV personality Samora Mangesi, who recently joined the podcasting world, uses his podcast The Best of Me to inspire others.

The podcast airs every Wednesday on YouTube. Samora started The Best of Me to publicly share his personal sobriety journey, as well as to inspire others to fight the use of substances and the unusual habits that come with it. He describes his podcast as a refreshing sober curios platform that is dedicated to unpack the chaos that often comes with the use of substances; and the clarity of self-love and self-respect.

Speaking to Daily Sun about his podcast, he said: “The idea came about when I started to kind of interrogate my relationship with not only alcohol but also my interpersonal relationships. But mostly rooted in re-evaluating my relationship with alcohol from a different perspective.

“From one, a financial perspective, how much money I was spending on it, but then number two, how it was affecting my interpersonal relationships. And what were some of the factors that were contributing to it? I think being an artist, someone who is part of the media space, the entertainment industry, I really think there are multiple contributing factors that needed me to really look at what it was that really kind of perpetuated the kind of relationship I had with it,” said Samora.

He told the publication that being a presenter at SABC1’s Khumbulekhaya also inspired the podcast.

Samora took to his Instagram page to share a snippet of The Best of Me where they talk about the habits that come with the use of substances.
