Popular South African food content creator Onezwa Mbola has established herself as not only one of South Africa’s most consistent and successful food content creators on TikTok, but she has managed to appeal to an international audience as well, making her a fan favourite on the TikTok streets.
Onezwa came on the scene and took Foodtok by storm with her unique and authentic recipes that she makes from scratch, which she admitted to having picked up during her time as a marine navigator.
Her intro ‘Hi I’m Onezwa and I make meals using items that I’ve grown, raised or foraged” has helped separate her from the regular food content creator, as she provides her followers with a glimpse into the full process from ingredients to a full nutritional meal. From harvesting vegetables, milking animals and fishing, Onezwa does it all and makes it look effortless.
She also incorporates traditional Xhosa recipes with her elevated touch to produce mouth-watering meals consistently, which she elevates using products from her condiments and seasoning company ‘eMandulo’.
Recently, the TikToker announced that she will be collaborating with the renowned Chef Gordon Ramsey on the fourth season of his culinary show ‘Uncharted‘. “Gordon Ramsey Uncharted follows Chef Gordon as he tells the food stories of some of the most remote locations around the globe, through unique culinary experiences,” she says.
Continuing, she says “Being based in a remote location myself, it’s exciting to see how other cultures on the show coexist with the earth.”
In an announcement on Instagram, the influencer shared the news of her collaboration with Gordan Ramsey with the caption: ” Let’s go on a culinary adventure with Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted S4. So far, we’ve experienced Cuba’s rich history, hearty food and picturesque scenery. And that inspired me too…. Catch the rest of the season on @natgeo_africa every Wednesday at 21:00.”

This is a significant milestone in Onezwa’s career, and seeing her progress in a positive light is refreshing for her followers as the TiToker has recently been in the middle of controversy after she pointed out that fellow FoodToker and model Nara Smith’s content was looking a bit too similar to her own whilst not giving her the credit she deserves.
