Romeo Kumalo stuns live crowd with impressive vocal skills

by Sergio Miller

It appears that Romeo Kumalo, the proud husband of former Miss South Africa Basetsana Kumalo is a man of many talents.

A recent video has emerged on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) which highlighted that he is more than just a good father to his children and a loving husband to his wife – it turns out that he has quite a decent singing voice as well.

In what appears to have been recorded at the 50th birthday celebrations of Basetsana, Romeo is filmed serenading his wife of 23 years as he confidently displays his vocal abilities by singing his version of Lionel Richie’s Three Times a Lady.

Cool, calm and collected seemed to have been the way to go as he effortlessly got through the entire song without messing up a key.

This appeared to have been enough to earn him a standing ovation from the guests in attendance – and brought tears to the eyes of his loving wife Basetsana who warmly embraced her husband as he left the stage approaching her.

The former model held three-day 50th birthday celebration party earlier this month with several A-listers in attendance.

Some familiar faces included another former Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green Nxumalo, Grammy Award-winner Zakes Bantwini, and Nandi Madida.

Meanwhile, the couple has recently breathed a sigh of relief after the court found author Jacky Phamotse guilty of crimen injury, criminal defamation and contempt of court. This has put an end to a five-year legal battle after Jacky’s 2018 Twitter post about an alleged gay sex tape involving Basetsasna and Romeo.

The former miss South Africa said she was relieved that they can finally restore their lives.
