With just a few hours left until the official start of the DSTV Delicious Festival, the anticipation is palpable and can almost be felt in the air. The festival organisers can finally breathe a sigh of relief as all seems to be in order for the much awaited event, after facing some hurdles along the way.

The untimely death of American musician Tito Jackson led to headliner Janet Jackson having to pull out of the festival in order to attend her brother’s funeral. Fortunately, musicians Jason Derulo and Busta Rhymes were available to fill in for the multi-award winning artist.

In more exciting news, the festival have announced Mzwakhe Mbuli, more popularly known as Robot Boii as the this year’s host. The young entertainer has been trusted with the difficult task of guiding the audience through the entire experience, ensuring that they are thoroughly entertained.

“Let’s operate something on the main stage as we celebrate 30 Years of creative freedom,” Robot Boii captioned an Instagram post.

Robot Boii’s selection as the host is unsurprising, as the jack of all trades has had his prints all over the entertainment industry, with ventures in music, as a recording artist, and collaborations with major brands. Furthermore, he has had an attempt in the comedy sphere, while dominating in his role as a dancer/choreographer.

His diverse and wide range of skills and talents make him an ideal candidate for the role of the host, as his fresh, witty and infectious personality often resonates with any crowd. This gig will be the ultimate test, and an opportunity to cement himself in the industry, as the festival celebrates 30 years of creative freedom.
