On 24 May, it was sadly announced that music legend Tina Turner had passed away at 83 years of age in her home in Switzerland. It has now been confirmed what caused the singer’s passing.

According to DailyMail.com, Tina’s representatives confirmed to the publication that the award-winning songstress died from natural causes. The publication also states that Tina had previously battled intestinal cancer and suffered from high blood pressure for over four decades.

The representative added, “With her, the world loses a music legend and role model.”

Tina, born Anna Mae Bullock, was popularly referred to as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. She produced iconic hits such as The Best, What’s Love Got to Do with It, Private Dancer and River Deep – Mountain High, to name a few.

Since her passing, many took to Twitter to remember the legend through tweets and videos, making ‘RIP Queen’ trend on the app.

One user shared a black-and-white video of the singer performing Proud Mary.
