After recently visiting South Africa for the first time, American rapper Rick Ross has quickly returned to the ‘motherland’, and this time he means business as he makes his first cameo on Pick’n’Pay’s latest advertisement.

South Africa has proven to be the land of opportunities that the United States once boasted about. Recently, an overabundance of global musicians and celebrities have planned to establish an international presence in the country, including Chris Brown, Kaytranada, and JP Cooper.

Popular American rapper Rick Ross made waves when he revealed that he had touched down in the Mother City. Upon arrival, the rapper expressed extreme awe and wonder at the majestic scenic beauty Cape Town has to offer. He revealed to his followers that it was his first time in the Mother City, and also admitted that his expectations were exceeded due to misconceptions that he had about the continent.

The rapper has made an unexpected return as he is set to perform at the highly anticipated Durban Music Festival set to take place at the Hollywoodbets Kingspark Stadium in Durban. However, it appears that it is not the only thing on the rapper’s agenda as he has proven that he does not waste time getting to the bag as he features in Pick’n’Pay’s latest advert.

The ad makes use of a rendition of DJ Khaled’s ‘All I Do Is Win’ smash hit and sees the big boss Rick Ross having a jolly time in their store, and of course, includes a few rhymes from the rapper.

Upon stumbling on this unexpected ad, internet users have expressed shock and confusion as they wonder how the concept and deal came about. These users inquired where the store managed to garner the funds to pay the rapper, and cited Pick’nPay’s recent financial woes as they reportedly gear up to close a significant portion of their stores due to the lack of finances to maintain them.

Pick n Pays are shutting down all over the country but yall have money to get Rick Ross on a commercial? https://t.co/b8duposqZ1 pic.twitter.com/WJlxD84k2c

Some users have drawn their own conclusions regarding Rick Ross’ return visit to mzansi, which they credit to his career reaching the beginning of the end. These users believe that the rapper has fallen off and is using South Africa to salvage what remains of it.

Rick Ross is gonna perform in Durban and people are not hyping the event, they even paid influencers and PicknPay to promote him. They’re shoving that man down our throats, he fell off bruh.
