RHODurban star Angel on receiving death threats

Durban businesswoman and new cast member of The Real Housewives of Durban, Angel Ndlela, has been getting death threats after the season premiered recently.

The reality TV show – which is now in its fourth season – introduced us to new cast members Ameigh Thompson, Angel Ndlela and Zama Ngcobo.

In a recent interview with Sunday World, the reality star – who holds an honours degree in industrial organisational psychology and has different business ventures in construction, taxis, manufacturing, and fashion design – discussed the social media backlash and death threats she received following the show’s airing.

She said, “I have been getting death threats and some bizarre comments and direct messages such as I deserve to be raped. It is bizarre, I know. And that is why I laugh it off, delete, block, and move on with my life.”

Known to be the youngest cast member, Angel is one to step on toes as she confronts her fellow cast members from not wanting to be referred to as a ‘kid’ to her arguing with RHODurban cast member Maria over her situation with her former ‘guzband’ (gay husband) Ruan and friend Jojo.

Throughout all this backlash, the reality star says that she is unbothered by the comments from the viewers and even though she has a loud and strong personality, she has also been able to show the RHODurban viewers her vulnerable side.

In a recent episode, Angel opened up about her fertility issues, citing that she was diagnosed with fibroproliferative breast disease in 2018 when she took contraceptives which led to her infertility. She added that sharing her story was to raise awareness and help inspire people dealing with fertility struggles.
