Award-winning singer Rethabile Khumalo gears up to celebrate her late mom, Winnie Khumalo’s music legacy.
This year, the legendary musician’s legacy marks 30 years of making Mzansi hit the dance floor. This event will be led by Rethabile, after Winnie passed away in January this year. She passed away after a short illness at the age of 51.
Winnie was a talented South African singer, songwriter, producer, actress, and businesswoman. She began her music career at just 13 years old and released her debut album Hey Laaitie at 15.
Winnie was known for her contributions to the Kwaito and Afro pop genres, collaborating with iconic South African artists like Brenda Fassie and Sello Chicco Twala. Her music career spanned over three decades, with notable hits like Live My Life, Phezulu, and Loluthando.
The event promises to be a wholesome celebration that will bring together some of South Africa’s most respected artists and industry legends to pay tribute to Winnie’s timeless contribution to the music industry. With a star-studded line up that includes Mörda, DJ Zinhle, Chicco Twala, Trompies, Nokwazi Dlamini and many more.
