The news that The Mommy Club‘s Ratile Mabitsela and husband Elias Lehlogonolo Mabitsela are headed for divorce surfaced, prompting the Mabitsela patriarch to speak out on the matter.

This is not the first time the couple’s marriage has been in the spotlight as there were allegations that Elias was abusive towards his wife and that Ratile went to open a case against him.

A mystery woman also came out saying she was in a relationship with the married Elias and that he was the father of her baby.

This according to Ratile who spoke of the allegations on season two of The Mommy Club was proven not true.

The latest in the Mabitsela household as reported by the Sunday World who spoke to the couple’s relative, was that Elias had sent his wife packing after she allegedly cheated on him. The publication also detailed that the reality TV star had also been physically abusive toward her husband and that he had asked his lawyers to draft divorce papers.

The news was also shared by the popular local blog Maphephandaba on their Instagram page prompting Elias to respond to the allegations.

Elias entered the blog’s DM responding:

“I do not like engaging especially with social media but this is untrue and there is no divorce taking place.
We’d appreciate space to mourn during this difficult time.”

The blog also shared communication Elias had sent out to a person called Maltji which reads.

“I would like to categorically state that I have never made any contact with you or the media regarding allegations on my wife’s personal matters. I need you to please prove any information from me as per your communication with my wife. The allegations mentioned in your inquiry are unfounded and do not reflect the truth. I kindly request for responsible and accurate reporting.”
