‘Radio does not deserve me, it makes me sick’ – Dineo Ranaka

by Sergio Miller

Well known radio and television presenter Dineo Ranaka has made it clear that she does not think the radio industry deserves her.

Her comments comes after she encountered multiple bad experiences with several radio stations in the last while, and believes that its best that she removes herself from the medium.

The 40-year-old who is also an actress and producer recently made her appearance on the BET Africa Show, Behind the Story – a show that gets up close and personal into the lives of some of South Africa’s biggest celebrities.

Here Dineo not only touched on her career in radio but also compared it to her marriage with ex husband.

Her career in radio marked a decade last year after she entered the industry in 2003 starting her career at 5FM presenting The Fanta World Chart Show with Brown Sugar. She then moved to YFM, Highveld Stereo, Metro FM, and Cliff Central.

Despite this, things seemed to have always turned sour.

Last year she took a break from Kaya FM after revealing that she was battling with depression. It was not long until she officially exited the station and later said that it was a toxic environment.

Not to mention that there was also a time she had a breakdown at YFM and was later taken off air.

In her latest interview on BET’s Behind the Story she says that radio does not deserve her.

“Radio does not deserve me; it makes me sick. There is no radio station in this country that can contain me, and I’m tired of getting sick.

She later compared this to her failed marriage, adding:

“Do you know what makes me sick? My marriage to my ex-husband made me physically sick because he tried to control and contain me. You can’t do that to people. Just let people be who they are,” she concluded.

I love Dineo so much mara the way she moves sometimes is just questionable.
After she’s admitted to lying, how do you ever believe anything she says??‍♀️ pic.twitter.com/AX4OmsQIGY
