After nine impactful years the 702, radio personality Nonn Botha has decided to hang up her microphone at the Joburg-based radio station.

She announced her decision in a statement via social media platforms.

In her statement she thanked both fans and colleagues for making her on-air experience one of the best, expressing her gratitude for the countless memories made throughout the years.

In her statement, she wrote: “Thank you for allowing me to keep hope alive in song from 1 July 2015 to August 2024.”

“My time has been filled with unforgettable experiences, all thanks to the support and incredible warmth from both our loyal listeners and my wonderful colleagues.”

She later thanked her listeners for their feedback and companionship. “Your engagement and encouragement have been the driving force behind our success as part of the 702 team.”

“To my colleagues, working alongside such talented and dedicated individuals has been a true privilege. The collaborative spirit, creativity and mutual respect we shared have made this journey not just a career but a cherished chapter of my life.”

“Thank you for the countless moments of laughter, learning and teamwork,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, there is no clear indication of what motivated her to leave the station, however, she has highlighted that the exit was due to personal reasons.

“Though I’m leaving for personal reasons, please know the memories and relationships I’ve built here will remain with me.”

Nonn last appeared on the show on Sunday, 4th August. Prior to joining the radio station, she previously worked at Kaya FM as well as Lesedi FM.
