In the wake of her recent separation from Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, the mother of his two children, Rachel, has made the most of her time alone by going on a much-deserved break.

While their children Nicholas and Kezia have been making the most of their school holidays by spending time with their father in Zimbabwe, the proud mother of two decided to go on a holiday of her own by booking herself a solo trip to Botswana.

Taking to social media she highlighted that this was the first time she spent the holidays without her children, and therefore instead of staying home alone, she decided to go on the trip since it has been what she has been wanting to do for years.

In an Instagram post, she shared a gallery of pictures and short video clips, providing her followers with a glimpse into her solo getaway.

Some of the activities included horse riding, safaris as well as journaling her thoughts as she immersed herself in the breathtaking outdoors of the country.

Sharing more about the experience, she wrote: “It’s my first solo trip, and I’m an introvert, so I arrived super nervous, and sad and left with a very full heart and so many amazing new friends from all over the world.”

After experiencing all there was to explore in our neighbouring country, she concluded: “Botswana will always have a big piece of my heart.”

She and Siya are meanwhile, still in the process of getting a divorce, however, the pair have revealed that they continue to remain good friends, and partners at the Kolisi Foundation and will continue to co-parent their children.
