R25 million disappears from Brenda Fassie’s deceased estate

Bongani Fassie has recently launched an investigation into his late mother and queen of afro-pop Brenda Fassie’s estate.

According to Sunday World, the reality TV star and producer reported that nearly R25 million has disappeared from his mother’s estate.

The 39-year-old claimed that his mother was robbed when one of the executors sold her publishing rights for barely R1 million, which went missing. Bongani refuses to comment on the issue, stating that the embezzlement of his mother’s money is nothing new, with the act dating back as far as 2004.

This is not the first time that Bongani has accused those who handed over his mother’s estate of cheating her. Last year, Bongani was hit with an R6 million defamation lawsuit by former music manager Lance Stehr after he was charged with spreading “intentional falsehoods” about him.

It was initially stipulated that Brenda’s husband, Nhlanhla Mbambo, was supposed to be the beneficiary to the estate. However, after thorough investigation, it was revealed that they were not legally married. This automatically makes Bongani the beneficiary of the estate.

According to Bongani, there was approximately R25 million in the estate’s distribution account that he was due to inherit, but it had all been depleted. He has met with his lawyers and states that he has found out what happened to the missing millions.

With the 20th anniversary of Brenda Fassie’s death taking place in May next year, Bongani vows to get to the bottom of this pressing issue. He refuses to allow more people to steal from his late mother and demands that she gets the justice that she deserves.
