With the controversy surrounding the historical wedding of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini and his third wife to-be, Nomzamo Myeni; the first wife of the monarch, Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela Zulu worries for her life.

The Queen once sought a court interdict at the Pietermaritzburg High Court to halt the wedding of his soon to-be ex-husband and his future wife, reasoning that even though they are in the process of a divorce their civil marriage which is in community of property is still active and does not allow second marriage.

According to Sunday World, Queen Ntokozo raised her safety concerns in a letter she wrote to the elders before she filed for an emergency application for a court interdict to stop the King’s wedding which will be held this weekend.

The publication reported the contents of the letter as follows:” I do not wish for my name to be part of tarnishing traditional customs, and that is why I ask you to intervene. I fear for my life and that of my two children, because I do not understand why the King would choose to embarrass the AmaZulu nation and make decisions that will make people not respect him. There is a certain way to do things in a manner that will accommodate our culture,” read the letter.

Meanwhile the advocate representing the Zulu emperor has handed their papers in the High Court to oppose an application for the interdict against the King taking another wife, reported SABC news.

According to IOL, the King disputed the claims of the wedding being called off and said in an exclusive telephone interview: “All I can say is that I love my wife and will marry her by force.”
