A public-spirited individual recently penned a letter to the judge president, raising concerns about delays in the late Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa’s murder trial.
In the letter which was passed down to the presiding judge of the trial, Judge Ratha Makgoathleng, the citizen said the court does not start on time, and even if the court started late, they would always adjourn at 11 am. The citizen then said even after the long adjournments, they would always adjourn at 3 pm for the end of the day.
The concerned individual asked if the state had forgotten about the two families that need closure from this case, with that being the Meyiwa family and the families of suspects on trial.
The letter read: “Senzo’s father passed on without knowing who killed his son, his mother too is not young anymore, and it looks like the same fate is awaiting her. I hereby plea for your intervention in this regard,” authored the citizen.
