The autumn graduation season is nearing the end and many academics ripped the fruits of their labour, receiving their degree, diplomas and certificates. Rapper and media personality ProVerb, real name Tebogo Thekisho, is one of those who is beaming with a job after he graduated recently.

For many who have gotten onto the stage to receive their academic qualification, the moment is usually an emotional one. People reflect on the time, effort, sacrifices and sleepless nights they’ve endured to get to the finish line.

Proverb’s graduation excitement started a week ago when he shared a picture of himself collecting his graduation regalia, he captioned his post:

“Collected my Graduation Regalia and I can’t contain my excitement, as I close the chapter on my Bachelor of Business Administration, while I embark on my Masters of Business Administration, and work towards more chapters on my education journey with Regenesys Business School.”

In the post, it also said that he would be graduating this week.

After finally getting his qualification just a few days after Mother’s Day, the rapper decided to dedicate his achievement to his mother. Carrying a graduation picture of his mother while in his own graduation clothes, he captioned his post:

“The best #MothersDay gift I could give my late mom is to keep the promise I made when laid her to rest, to spend the rest of my life trying to make her proud and to become the man she had always hoped I would become.”

He showed gratitude to his father for his continued support, capturing his post:

“Every step I’ve taken has been guided by your unwavering support and belief in me. Thank you for empowering me to chase my dreams and for always encouraging me to be true to myself. As I stand here today, holding my BBA degree from Regenesys Business School, I am filled with immense gratitude for everything you’ve done. You’ve given me the freedom to explore, to learn, and to grow, and for that, I am forever indebted.”

“Now, more than ever, I strive to make you proud, not just as your son, but as the person you’ve always seen in me. Here’s to the future, where I hope to continue making you proud and standing tall as the son you’ve raised me to be. Thank you Pa, for everything.”
