Record producer Prince Kaybee is never one to shy away from speaking his mind. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the star defended the songstress Tyla after Macgyver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho alluded to the singer having no talent.
In a recent episode of Podcast and Chill with MacG, the podcaster first gave props to Tyla’s team for her success then said, “Imagine working with someone who is really talented, what they could do.”
With his podcast co-hosts Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady disagreeing with his statement, MacG added, “I’m not hating … I’m saying imagine what they could do if they work with Msaki.”
Seeing a snippet of the podcast video, Prince Kaybee stated:
“I’ve been with Tyla in the studio, from a producer to a vocalist she is one of the most sonically charismatic artists I’ve ever seen write and compose melodies. She is also a beast of a perfectionist which makes her 5-star talent.”
He then added, “But someone who is just a consumer and not a music maker holds a certain bias to what they like and that shouldn’t discredit Tyla’s talent because you prefer someone else, but like I said, consumers are biased.”

In Prince Kaybee’s comment section, the deejay agreed with an X user who said, “Podcasts are great for diverse content and freedom of speech, however, it’s important to still apply some basic journalistic principles – research, fact-checking beyond hearsay. We all love controversy, but this pure character attack and spreading baseless rumours is pure hate.”

This is not the first time MacG has publicly criticised Tyla. On a previous episode of Podcast and Chill with MacG, the host alleged that Tyla’s numbers were manufactured. “She’s being pushed by the label,” said MacG.
