Recently, Limpopo boys started a cycling challenge where they rode their bikes from Limpopo to Cape Town.
Their journey finally came to an end as they reached their destination. Many people who have been following their journey were happy to see that they got to Cape Town safe and sound because of the injury that one of them sustained.
This was a proud moment not only for them but for our president too, who took to his Facebook page to congratulate the boys in a lengthly post.
He said that the South African government and its people warmly congratulate cyclists Gauta Mahlakoane, Maxwell Ndou, and Karabo Mokoo on completing their remarkable 1,741-kilometer journey from Burgersfort, Limpopo Province, to Cape Town, Western Cape Province. Pedalling their BMX bicycles for 13 days, the trio showcased incredible endurance and determination, captivating the nation with their ambition to succeed against all odds.
Their journey wasn’t just about covering distance; it fuelled the Ubuntu human connection that defines South Africa, promoting solidarity and inspiring young people to stay away from social ills like substance abuse and gangsterism. Communities along the route rallied behind the team, cheering them on and supporting their cause, which included raising awareness about gender-based violence.
The cyclists’ achievement serves as a testament to what can be accomplished with perseverance and dedication, inspiring current and future generations. The government and people of South Africa admire and value the youthful initiative and self-starting spirit that the cyclists embodied throughout their journey.
South Africans took upon themselves and flooded his comment section with the #JusticeforCwecwe asking him if he does not care or what is happening.
One user said: “#JusticeforCwecwe. Your silence is to loud on the Cwecwe Case but you are too quick to congratulate Cyclists. We want Justice ke sana.”
Another one wrote, “How is it that you’re too quick to recognise them Mr President when we shook large platforms with the #JusticeforCwecwe case and you hardly said anything? What kind of a leader are you Mr President sir? Did you even try to acknowledge the case at the very least?”
