After scoring a semi-final winning penalty, South African and Leicester Tigers fly-half, Handre Pollard was named player of the match.

Pollard joined the 2023 Rugby World Cup just before the quarter-finals as a late call-up after Malcolm Marx sustained an injury. In the 3 games he played, Pollard did very well as he was coming from an injury himself.

Upon his return, the Springboks shared on social media:

“How good is it to see #Springboks flyhalf Handré Pollard back in the squad? ??#StrongerTogether #RWC2023.”
