The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) KwaZulu-Natal chairperson and Minister of Public Works, Dean Macpherson, described Pope Francis as “a wonderful example of selfish service to humanity.” Macpherson, a Catholic, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his condolences, saying the Pope “joins the angels and saints to celebrate the work he has on earth”.
