Pitch International and Kolisi Foundation join forces for iconic clash between Springboks and Barbarians

by Staff Bona

The Cape Town Stadium will come alive this June as rugby giants the Barbarians and the Springboks face off in the thrilling Qatar Airways Cup, hosted by Pitch International.

But this is more than just a game. It’s also the beginning of a powerful new partnership between Pitch International and the Kolisi Foundation, showing how sport and purpose can come together to make a real difference.

Pitch International has proudly partnered with the Kolisi Foundation as their official social impact partner for this iconic match. This partnership is about more than just rugby. It is a celebration of using global platforms to drive meaningful awareness and change.

Pitch International Andy Marinos said, “Partnering with the Kolisi Foundation for the Qatar Airways Cup allows us to unite a world-class rugby event with a world-class cause. It’s a privilege to help amplify the incredible work they’re doing in communities, and we hope this match is just the beginning of a long-lasting collaboration rooted in purpose.”

Founded by Siya and Rachel Kolisi, the Kolisi Foundation exists to change the stories of inequality by supporting and strengthening local organisations that are already doing the work. With a focus on education and sport, food security, and gender-based violence, the foundation’s programmes are rooted in the communities of Cape Town and Gqeberha.

“This has been an incredible partnership,” says Lauren Budde, Strategic Partnerships Manager at the Kolisi Foundation. “It shows what is possible when commercial brands use their reach for good. Through this collaboration with Pitch International, we are able to tell our story to a new audience and inspire others to be part of the work we are doing.”

This match promises unforgettable rugby, a stadium full of energy, and the chance to be part of something greater than the game itself.
