The Maake kaNcube divorce chronicles continue to shock mzansi as Pearl Mbewe makes an interesting revelation regarding Sello Maake kaNcube’s HIV status, placing the blame of their divorce on said status.

This comes recently after news of the shocking divorce broke, as the couple were thought to be the epitome of ‘couple goals’ as they often displayed affection for each other and did not hold back when it came to gushing about one another on their respective social media pages.

However, the truth behind their facade was brought to light when the veteran actor revealed intimate details of their marriage, including revealing to TshisaLive that Pearl was the source of a lot of the conflict in their marriage.

Breaking her silence, Pearl Mbewe who is formerly referred to as Pearl Maake kaNcube has taken to the media to address her truth and side of the story as her soon-to-be ex-husband had previously gone on a smear campaign, labelling her as the villain in the story of their marriage.

Speaking to Sunday World, Pearl reveals that she was bamboozled by Sello into having unprotected sex under the guise of trying for a baby.

Continuing, Pearl revealed that she and Sello started to worry when they failed to conceive after a few attempts, subsequently leading them to a fertility specialist.

The specialist then suggested that the couple take an HIV test, as a positive result could account for the failure to conceive, considering the veteran’s age. This is where Pearl found out that her husband is HIV positive, while her results came back surprisingly negative.

This, according to Pearl was the beginning of the demise as Sello could not grapple with their new reality

“My sin and the downfall of our marriage was because, ‘unfortunately’, I didn’t contract the virus. If I had also tested positive, my estranged husband would not have started showing signs of envy towards me and telling me that I’m the only ‘special woman’ he has slept with in recent years because ‘I have special genes…Sello must stop lying and soliciting public sympathy in my name. I have all the proof to [refute] all his lies. Not in my name!” Pearl divulges to the aforementioned publication.
