Skeem Saam actor Patrick Seleka, known for his role as Chef Katlego Petersen, has opened up about his journey of personal growth and healing.
The South African reported that in 2021, Patrick made headlines when he admitted to having emotionally abused his ex-wife, a revelation that shocked many people. Now, in a new chapter of his life, Patrick is ready to embrace the future and now feels as though he is in a better place.
According to the Daily Sun, the actor said that 2023 was a great year that brought many positive changes as he found love again. One of the highlights was the launch of his cooking show, The-Cook-A-Long, on Netflix.
“The past year has been perfect for me. It has been great. Life has moved on and I’m happy now,” he said while pointing to his new partner, Tshepang.
In addition to his personal life, Patrick’s career has also reached new heights. The publication further states that his cooking show has been nominated for a South African Television and Film Award (SAFTA) in the best lifestyle programme category. This is a major milestone for him, as it is his first-ever award nomination.
“This is my first award nomination, and it’s one of the biggest nominations. I’m proud,” he said. “The cooking show was inspired by my character on Skeem Saam. I fell in love with cooking, and my bosses encouraged me to give it a try. That’s how The-Cook-A-Long was born.”
