This gig comes with no shock for Pabi as she has always aspired to be a sports presenter. The 21 year old has always had a deep passion for sports, she was the head of sports in high school and wanted to pursue a degree in Sports Communication at the University of Johannesburg.

The Isphithiphithi hitmaker showed fans on Twitter an Instagram conversation from 2019 where she expresses to Lindiwe Nxumalo a South African Sports broadcaster her love for sport and passion for sports presenting. In the lengthy DM she further inquired about the procedures to follow in order to attain a job in the field of sports presenting.

After making the announcement on social media, Pabi received mixed reactions. Some people were not happy for the musician because they felt that she is undeserving and bagged the presenting job just because she is “Pabi Cooper.” Others however, were extremely happy for her and flooded her comments section with excitement, love and congratulatory messages.

Congratulations to Pabi Cooper for bagging the sports presenting gig. She does have four years of experience playing soccer and is a prof ref so she is deserving of the job. pic.twitter.com/ZpDSXxBTcQ
