Oscar Pistorius alleged job hunt ends in rejection

by Sergio Miller

Although he is just half-way through his 13-year prison sentence following the murder of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, former South African Paralympian Oscar Pistorius is rumoured to have already started making efforts to adapt to life outside of prison.

The Olympic medalist was released on parole in January with clear instructions to avoid any contact with any media publication and has been living a private life with a family relative in Pretoria ever since his release.

Despite being homebound for the majority of his time, international news publication New York Post has now revealed that Oscar has already began sending out his resume in hopes of securing a job in sport.

According to the publication the 37-year-old reached out to two members of the International Paralympic Committee in hopes of getting a job but was later rejected.

With Oscar’s controversial actions still very much a factor, it was reported that one of the members allegedly declined his request stating: “He is too toxic to work with now. There is nothing for him here.”

In the past Oscar had a major impact in the Paralympics and previously clinched the top spots in 2004, 2008 and 2012. His self believes and accomplishments later also led him to becoming the first ever double amputee to compete with abled body athletes at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Local news publication The South African however reported that Oscar is currently still keeping himself occupied by doing maintenance at a local church.
