Mpumalanga born producer and DJ Oscar Mbongeni Ndlovu, popularly known by Oscar Mbo is in the midst of controversy once again as an Eastern Cape based promoter Luzuko Kohli shared his less than desirable experience with the artist.

Luzuko took to his Facebook page to voice his grievances and frustrations with the way Oscar Mbo carried himself at the event, as well as prior to the event. He highlighted the the general disregard of Eastern Cape based promoters from artists.

The promoter painted a picture of all that transpired leading up to his event. The first issue arose when Oscar asked Luzuko to change his initial flight to an earlier time due to a conflict in his schedule, which he ended up paying additional costs for, just to make these changes.

Furthermore, Oscar then demanded an additional payment of R15k on the basis that he and his team would have to travel on the ground from Gqeberha to East London. When trying to negotiate this amount, the artist and his team threatened not to pitch. The artist also wanted an additional R40 000 to post the event on their social media feed.

Social media users expressed their disappointment and condemned the artist and others who have done similar.

“The way I was so angry with this remember I wanted you to cancel him coz he was too much to bare. In Joburg they don’t act like this coz they are just like any other artists there but here they are playing big. We just need to learn to use our own EC artists,” says Facebook user Phumeza MissBreezy Kwababa.
