Once celebrated for his memorable role as Chester on the iconic South African drama series Yizo Yizo, Ernest Msibi now finds himself struggling to reclaim his place in the entertainment industry.

Ernest Msibi, who was once a household name, feels abandoned by the very industry that once celebrated his talent.

According to DailySun, Ernest has shared with the publication that he is struggling to secure acting roles. Despite attending auditions, he isn’t receiving callbacks and feels sidelined by the industry. “People are still celebrating me when they see me. But it’s hard now in this industry. Maybe people want to talk good things about me when I’m dead, but they’re failing to help me now that I’m still alive,” he shared.

As he struggled to find acting work, Ernest turned to politics in an attempt to stay active and engaged. ZiMOJA reported that when called Ernest to enquire about his alleged membership, Ernest’s wife and manager Nana Zondi said to the publication, “My husband and I would like to clarify rumours of him joining the MK Party. It’s none of your business. Why don’t you rather focus on why he has not been cast for any acting role for the past three years.”

However, it has been reported that the couple may be heading for a divorce. According to the above-mentioned publication, a close source revealed that Ernest and Nana are no longer living together. Additionally, it is said that after Ernest’s contract ended with SABC 1’s Uzalo, Nana helped him re-enter the industry, but later regretted it as his toxic traits began to surface.
